Doha, D-Ring Road

The Doha Airport Centre is strategically located in a new building close to the international airport on one of the city's major arterial roads. Doha is the capital city of Qatar, with over 80 per cent of the nation's population residing here or its surrounding suburbs, and is also the economic centre of the country. Doha's economy is built on oil and natural gas revenue, but the Qatari government is rapidly trying to diversify the Qatari economy. The Qatar Science & Technology Park has been established to attract technology-based companies and entrepreneurs, from overseas and within Qatar. Education City was set up to host campuses of some the world's leading universities and Doha Sports City consists of many other sports-related facilities. Construction companies have thrived amid all this development. Doha Airport Centre is situated on D-Ring Road, which provides good access to central Doha, the airport and northern Qatar. Hotels, bars, cafés and restaurants are nearby.
